Building a vehicle with a hover PID is clunky at best. The AI won't use the hover axis to dodge ships the way it normally would and even the fake point on the AI PID settings won't be overridden to dodge. Furthermore, Amphibious vehicles and submersible aircraft cannot be created with a PID, with the exception of thrustercraft/helicopters. Changing the fake point on a PID is begging for ship collisions, especially given the AI can barely prevent collisions to begin with.
Adding an Altitude Clamping component and a Vehicle Type Selector can fix these issues. These components just change AI variables that already exist.
