The "Ammo use/second" Tool-tip from an APS gun is very helpful, but it would be more useful if we could have apples to apples comparisons from the other weapon types.
Cram guns list the ammo per shell, and the other stats are already listed for "Stats at minimum reload time", and missile launchers already have a "Launcher ammo/sec" statistic if you open the menu, so I don't think it would be too difficult to implement.
Ideally, I would love it if every gun that uses ammo (including simple weapons) had the tool-tip for when you hover over them, just to make calculating how many ammo boxes you need easier.
Simple weapons would probably be the most complex to list, since they have somewhat different mechanics between them. I think the most comprehensible summary for the simple weapons would be based on the total ammo use divided by the ammo cycle time in seconds.
Ammo cycle time= (reload time)*(magazine capacity)+(magazine reload time)
So an Octuple 40mm Mk-S would have an ammo cycle time of (0.5s)*(140)+(12s) = 82s
It also has a 1500 ammo cost per full reload.
Which means it would have "Ammo use/second: 18.3" tool-tip when you hover over it.
