A craft using the hovercraft bombing AI that can only yaw by differential thrust gets stuck facing away from the enemy after retreating.
I don't have a solid guess for why this happens but I've found a few workarounds that might narrow it down.
- Lower the forward component on the main thrusters to 0.5. Higher values such as 0.8 do not work around the issue.
- Add dedicated turning thrusters
- Add an ACB that sets the main drive to 100% when the enemy is far away.
The attached craft, when loaded in with a slow enemy, will perform a bombing run or two, then get stuck facing away from the enemy. It has an ACB on top for workaround #3, when this ACB is enabled the craft behaves correctly. This issue may affect other AIs as well, I have not tested them.
