Any regular water propellers leave trails in water. Those trails looks like 2d smoke effects or jet propulsion effects but its only appears when camera underwater.
The problem is - they stack and require lots of processing power from gpu.
Having more than 4 small proppelers on ship already gives huge impact on fps, but having even more for example on submarine (to gain stability and speed) is just killing my pc.
There is no dependance on grapics settings or resolution or version. Since those water effects were added - they drop framerate. I patiently waited them to be fixed and now when steam propellers broke too i just must report this issue.
It is happening only with this effects. Smoke from cannons does drop fps but way less even if 20+ canons used.
Here is https://yadi.sk/i/qCaeyPqyXWJIlA small video with poor resolution. You can barelly see fps counter but it drops from 80+ to 14 just by looking at those trails.
Possible solution - give option to turn those effects off completly.
